Weight fluctuations can be both a sign and symptom of prediabetes. Weight gain can cause insulin resistance, which in turn leads to frequent urination and sugar-loss. This results in a loss of calories. Prediabetes and diabetes also keep sugar from reaching the body’s cells, which can induce hunger and weight loss.
