Professional Biography

Dr. Galvis grew up in The Woodlands, Texas. After graduating summa cum laude from the University of North Texas, she completed medical school at the University of San Antonio Long School of Medicine. She then moved back home to Houston to complete both her internal medicine residency and a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. During fellowship, she participated in quality improvement and presented at local and national American Association of Clinical Endocrinologist conferences.

Dr. Galvis is board certified in Internal Medicine and currently board-eligible for Endocrinology. She is a member of the Endocrine Society and American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. She has a particular interest in obesity and type 2 diabetes.

She loves spending time with her husband and spoiling their dog. She loves to read, and her favorite genre is contemporary fiction. She also enjoys listening to and playing music, watching movies, and spending time with her family.
